THREE SIMPLE WAYS TO PROVE IT'S NOT IDEOMOTOR DOWSING

This has been shown on this site many times being in the FAQ for some years.  It is again reiterated here following some questions from users and the  sole  argument  in one metal detector 'expert's'  (Carl) misguided  campaign  i.e. the claim that  it is  not user-independent  and  is therefore dowsing.

Q.  What is the ideomotor and why is there so much controversy about it? How can I prove it's not ideomotor, in other words just me?

A.  The ideomotor is that anatomical force that moves your foot out quickly when a baseball  player  you  back  hits a  home  run on  television.  It's an  unconscious  sympathy you exhibit physically when you  want something to happen or enjoy it happening.   The ideomotor  response is held by  some to be the reason  the rod turns towards the target. You are subconsciously twisting your wrist unbeknownst to your conscious mind say the proponents.  I suspect this is emanating from one or two sources.  The reason may be ignorance or business agendas.

It is very easy to prove it isn't the answer.

1.     Place a sample of  your target on a revolving chair and looking away spin the chair. You need to almost turn your back fully on the chair. Once you orientate yourself so you cannot see where the sample is, but allowing the Examiner enough angle to turn towards the sample,  you will see the antenna turning towards it if you check the chair every now and then.

You will realise it cannot possibly be the ideomotor response or your imagination since the antenna is pointing to the sample. Note that the back of the chair may present  an obstacle in  relation to the  swing which will prove  the  above again.

2.  This is the Tell Color Test. It also proves it is not ideomotor or any number of other deceptions proposed  by the sad skeptics. Set your Ranger-Tell Examiner  to any of these frequencies then press the key you usually do (see instructions).  Turning  around you will notice that the antenna is indicating an object the color of the frequency entered in the unit. The positions of these colors are of course not known to you.  This is because it is a serious  frequency  resonant  machine which is not dowsing per se. If you see the antenna indicating another color you will soon see it is a hue of the color sought since you are slightly out of tune.

3. Walk over the target you've set to and keep walking. You will notice that the Examiner antenna turns back a certain number of paces past the target. Walking back over the target count the number of paces before the antenna turns again. It  is always  the same number of paces on either side of the target. It's just not possible for you to coincidentally do this when you consider it works for any number  of steps (or measured distance) on either side. It is therefore not dowsing or intutive self-deception at all.

Here's another fine proof that the Examiner is not a dowsing device per se. Take a dowsing rod or rods or any other dowsing device and detect a sample of say gold. Tape a headband made from  aluminium foil right round your head.. You will find a point where the foil will null any attempt to detect you make with the rods etc.  Now try the Examiner with the foil taped to the same place. There will be no problem detecting as per normal. You may need to tune the controller. The points on the forehead and above the ears are held to be important in dowsing as you can see. The Examiner is not 'foiled' by the barrier and so does not appear to work with points associated with dowsing. It uses micromagnetics and frequencies with no user input whatsoever. Dowsing uses some of these but it is an esoteric interpretation and hence nothing to do with the user-independent  Examiner.

Over four years of reading every argument advanced by the skeptics re long range locators their only argument has been that it is dowsing and hence within the natural grasp of users without having to pay for these units. There are dozens of ways to prove this is in fact completely incorrect. A rod may move in the hand of the user and appear to detect , but this is using the body aerial in a primitive way and not a professionally tested and accurate device such as the Examiner. It would cost twice as much to get tuition to use an L rod to even find water properly as the price of the Examiner, even if you could find a dowsing instructor. This is given you are one of the few or many that claim they can.
